Split Kayak Fish Finder Transducer Scupper Plugs

from $8.97

Are looking to add a fish finder to your kayak? You would not be the only one. In fact kayak fishing is one of the fastest growing sports and a great use for a kayak. Routing the transducer cable through the factory scupper holes is a nature choice and our split scupper plugs help seal the hole around that cable. This is an ideal solution to older model kayaks that may not have a dedicated transducer port built-in or even today’s current models that need to be retrofitted for kayak fishing. These new plugs makes it much easier to add a fish finder to your rig.

We offer these plugs in 16 tapered sizes with 3 center hole sizes to fit various transducer cable diameters. Each plug is split on one size to allow the cable to be inserted without the need to route the larger connection heads through the same hole. The seam in each plug can be glued closed again using cyanoacrylate glue (commonly referred to as CA glue or super glue). Once installed with transducer in place and cable locations determined, the center hole is then easily sealed with standard silicon for a leak-free seal.

All plugs are 1" tall.

When selecting a plug…

  1. Allow for a center hole that is either exactly the size of your transducer cord or slightly larger. A center hole too small will prevent the plugs from closing at the split section which will make it unable to be glued. This will also increase the size of the plug which will impact the fit. It is therefore better to allow for a loose fit around transducer cable and then the addition of silicon to seal the hole.

  2. Measure to the nearest 1/8” at the section of the scupper hole where it is completely round and begins from a straight cylinder wall. You can download our Scupper Hole Size Gauge free of charge to help with the measurements.

  3. Select a plug size that has your scupper hole measurement somewhere near the middle of the taper range. For example if your scupper hole is 1-1/4”, you would want to select our 1-3/16” - 1-7/16”. This means that when the plug is installed, it will be approximately halfway in. If a larger plug is selected it will sit too high and be easy to be knocked out. If a smaller plug is selected it may sit lower but it may also not be large enough to press tightly in the scupper hole for a proper seal.
